5th West Metro Veterans Fair
Another successful West Metro Veterans Fair has come and gone in Lakewood, CO. Many thanks to all of the hard working volunteers and especially the Lakewood Elks Lodge #1777 for making this years 5th West Metro Veterans Fair (WMVF) a success.
According to veteran Scott Hefty, the City of Lakewood Municipal Court Chief Probation Officer, organizer of this event: “The WMVF is designed to increase awareness of non-profit programs and services available for veterans and their families by highlighting employment, housing, educational, recreational and resource opportunities. This is a veteran-driven and community inspired event with the goal of connecting veterans/families with people and resources.”

Once again, Lakewood is gearing up for their annual West Metro Veterans Fair (WMVF). Veteran Scott Hefty, the City of Lakewood Municipal Court Chief Probation Officer, is at the helm of this important event. Please share this information with our veteran community . This year’s date is Tuesday, September 26, 2017 @ 1pm to 4pm.
From Scott Hefty: “The West Metro Veterans Fair (WMVF) is now in its 5th year. This event originally started out as a grass-roots endeavor in 2013. It was developed by the City of Lakewood to provide an informative forum for veterans and their family members. Veterans were able to learn about and access the wide variety of services and interventions available by non-profit organizations as well as at the local, state and the federal government level. This veterans fair has grown into the event it is today through the efforts of many, including Lodge #1777.

Meet volunteer Venita Collier. She is a (VAVS) Veterans Affairs Voluntary Services representative for the Colorado State Elks Association, and has been for the last three years. Venita’s Elks Lodge is #1777 in Lakewood, CO. She is very proud of her participation with this organization, and what it does for the community. Many Veterans who have served continue to lead by holding the torch for their fellow Veterans and their country. Navy Vietnam Veteran Cliff Fejfar is a shining example of this way of life.

West Metro Veterans Fair 2016

The West Metro Veterans Fair gathered 40+ exhibitors for their 2016 Fair held at the Elks Lakewood Lodge #1777. Lakewood Mayor Adam Paul gave opening remarks. City Councilman Pete Roybal presented Vietnam War Veterans with a 50th Anniversary lapel pin. Nurses were available to administer FREE Flu shots, along with blood pressure and glucose readings.
