Cliff Fejfar Retires From RMHF

Navy Vietnam Veteran Cliff Fejfar

One of the many joys of participating with Star Spangled Boomerang has been and continues to be the incredible people whom we have met.  Many Veterans who have served continue to lead by holding the torch for their fellow Veterans and their country.  Navy Vietnam Veteran Cliff Fejfar is a shining example of this way of life.

Navy Vietnam Veteran Richard Cox

What makes Richard Cox a true American hero?  After reading about his twenty years of military experience, his determination to make a difference regarding veteran challenges, and watching the following video, you will agree.  “Richard is a strong, silent man who is very dedicated to veterans, and their causes.”  This comment came from Judy Atencio.  Ms. Atencio, is an advocate for veterans and also an associate member of VVA Chapter 1071.  She has witnessed his tenacity for veterans time and time again, while being part of various veteran issues with VVA Chapter 1071.  For example, recently, important headway has been made with, The Toxic Exposure Research Act of 2015, currently in Congress.  Without active veteran commitment with veterans like Richard Cox, there is no face to the cause.  His leadership, has helped bring positive results. Veteran Advocate Judy A. Atencio

Judy Atencio has been an active veteran advocate for 20 years.  She works tirelessly caring for veterans.   Whether the issue is agent orange, the elderly, disabled or homeless, if a veteran is in need, Judy is attempting to solve the problem.  If you are attending a veteran meeting, fund-raiser or program in the West Metro area, chances are Judy helped coordinate and organize the event.  If you look around the room, she is probably present and taking notes.  She is everywhere!  Judy Atencio is the epitome of the philosophy:  “It’s not what you say… it’s what you do.”  She is amazing.  Unfortunately for the Denver Metro area, Judy and her husband Ed are retiring and moving to Montrose in August.
