Memorial Day Colorado 2015

U.S. Navy Band TAPS: – 343k –

Many family and friends were at Fort Logan National Cemetery on this Memorial Day weekend to honor and remember those who rest here.  I did not wish to invade their privacy and waited for the rain to fall, hoping they would take shelter before taking these pictures.  For the few who stood fast, regardless of the thunder and lightening of the storm, I apologize for the intrusion.
Thank you to all of our service members who have given of themselves for our freedom.  Let’s remember what this holiday stands for.  I think the spirit of Memorial Day is simply stated by President Abraham Lincoln and Joseph Campbell:
“A nation that does not honor it’s hero’s, will not long endure.” Abraham Lincoln

“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.” Joseph Campbell

  1. I would like to thank all the men and women who have fought and are still fighting for our country. THANK YOU! There are no words that can express how grateful I am for what all of you have done and what you continue to do for our FREEDOM. If you think about it, we put our complete trust in you. We wake up with no worries, and our hardest decision for that day is what can or will I do today for myself to be happy? REALLY???? My heart can barely hold the gratitude for our men and women. We need to pray everyday for their protection, and to give God Almighty who gave us this Great Nation, the United States of America a Big THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
