OPERATION HOLIDAY JOY: It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is now less than two weeks away, and almost time to go through the garage for the holiday decorations. Thinking ahead, I have been looking for a special way to honor the families, especially the children of our military community. There are many worthy organizations out there providing assistance, however, this year I plan on supporting Operation Holiday Joy. Operation Holiday Joy began in 2004 and 100% of received donations goes to help create a better holiday for our service members and their families. Continue reading Operation Holiday Joy

From the website Greenlight A Vet: “Change one light to green in a visible location-on your porch, in your home, or at your office-and keep it glowing every day as a symbol of appreciation and support for our veterans. On May 23, 2015, volunteer JC Snider from Pets For Vets-Colorado, rescued another dog from being euthanized. He is a purebred blue heeler. She named him Tag, since she tagged him for adoption before his scheduled final day. His previous owner had surrendered him.

From the Colorado Patriot Guard Riders website:
“We don’t care what you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a “hawk” or a “dove”. It is not a requirement to be a veteran. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what your station in life is. You don’t even have to ride. All we require is that you show respect for those who have served our country. Brenton Hutson, is the Division Director of Volunteers of America-Denver. He is passionate regarding the changes Denver needs to make regarding our veteran homeless population.
“Rocky Mountain Honor Flight was created to transport our American veterans to Washington DC for two days of remembrance, honor and celebration of their service and sacrifice. Top priority is given to our most senior veterans, our World War II heroes, as well as those veterans from all conflicts who may be terminally ill. This journey is at no cost to the veterans. Rocky Mountain Honor Flight is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.”
