Operation Holiday Joy

OPERATION HOLIDAY JOY:  It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is now less than two weeks away, and almost time to go through the garage for the holiday decorations.  Thinking ahead,  I have been looking for a special way to honor the families, especially the children of our military community.  There are many worthy organizations out there providing assistance, however, this year I plan on supporting Operation Holiday Joy.  Operation Holiday Joy began in 2004 and 100% of received donations goes to help create a better holiday for our service members and their families. Now that it is getting dark sooner due to daylight savings time, why not follow Walmart’s lead in changing one light to GREEN and show our veterans support… Whether this is a smart marketing tool, or sincere respect, I’m in.            http://www.greenlightavet.com/

From the website Greenlight A Vet:  “Change one light to green in a visible location-on your porch, in your home, or at your office-and keep it glowing every day as a symbol of appreciation and support for our veterans. Then, share your support by taking a picture of your green light and posting it using the hashtag #greenlightavet. Continue reading Walmart Greenlight A Vet

On May 23, 2015, volunteer JC Snider from Pets For Vets-Colorado, rescued another dog from being euthanized.   He is a purebred blue heeler.    She named him Tag, since she tagged him for adoption before his scheduled final day.  His previous owner had surrendered him.

From the Colorado Patriot Guard Riders website:

“We don’t care what you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a “hawk” or a “dove”.  It is not a requirement to be a veteran.  It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what your station in life is. You don’t even have to ride.  All we require is that you show respect for those who have served our country. Continue reading Patriot Guard Riders by Robert Waples
