The amount of time, energy, and fund-raising for the volunteers of RMHF to continue to provide these much deserved trips can be daunting. Recently, Brad Allen invited me to tour the newly opened Bill Daniels Services Center in Denver, CO. I was excited to see how Volunteers of America-Denver brought their dream to help our veterans with this idea to fruition. StarSpangledBoomerang first reported on this project in February. It is wonderful to spread the news of it’s completion.
Old Glory Coast to Coast Relay is Coming to Colorado!
Team RWB Denver and Team RWB Colorado Springs have reserved October 6, 7, 9 & 10th for our chapters to run Old Glory Relay. Each day is limited to 15 team members – “supporters” and those who want to run with are more than welcome as always.

Lots of excitement at DIA on Saturday night as the twenty two WWII and seven Korean war veterans returned home from their trip to Washington DC. The fanfare included service members from all branches, families, boy scouts, bagpipers, and even dogs. The smiles and enthusiasm was contagious as the crowd waited for our heroes.
West Metro Veterans Fair – Lakewood Elks Lodge #1777
Thirty-four agencies represented the veterans fair this year in Lakewood, Colorado. Each booth was manned with knowledgeable and supportive people whose main objective was to inform and offer services to our veteran population and their families.

“Rocky Mountain Honor Flight was created to transport our American veterans to Washington DC for two days of remembrance, honor and celebration of their service and sacrifice. Top priority is given to our most senior veterans, our World War II heroes, as well as those veterans from all conflicts who may be terminally ill. This journey is at no cost to the veterans. Rocky Mountain Honor Flight is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.”
