6th West Metro Veterans Fair in Lakewood, Colorado
WWII Veteran Maurice L. Howland
The 6th West Metro Veterans Fair, once again, provided our veterans with a one stop information and services available to veterans. WWII Veteran Maurice L. Howland, who attended the fair, will be 95 this January. Since the 6th West Metro Veterans Fair is focused on our veterans well-being and health, the face of Mr. Howland and all of our veterans are important reminders why this non-profit informational fair is so significant . With the information and help for our veterans and their families found at this event, the intention is for all of our veterans to celebrate their 95th birthday, and beyond.
Many organizations, and volunteers from our veteran and civilian communities work together to accomplish this goal. Following are just a few of the forty six exhibitors who participated in the 6th West Metro Veterans Fair. Continue reading 6th West Metro Veterans Fair

OPERATION HOMEFRONT: On the eve of Thanksgiving 2017, I realize there is so much to be grateful for! I am thankful for the opportunity to gather together to share a meal with family and friends. At this celebration, we have the religious freedom to bow our heads (or not) and give thanks with any faith we choose to participate in.
I am thankful for and have a deep appreciation for those who have made the choice to serve our country, both past and present, and their families. Making a commitment to wear the uniform does not usually include a leave for the holiday, or a large budget for the family’s holiday that they are separated from. Undergoing physical risks are also endured as part of their decision to serve. I am thankful for the sacrifices and successes made by our service members, both past and present.

I am thankful for organizations who offer help and assistance to our military families like Operation Homefront. Operation Homefront provides a way for civilians and their communities to show appreciation for service members, wounded warriors, and their families who have sacrificed so much. operationhomefront.org/ Continue reading I am thankful for Operation Homefront
Robert Waples answers the call
Robert Waples and Troy Bystrom
Today is Veteran’s Day, 2017. We applaud and salute our Veterans who have worn the uniform, both past and present. We respect you, and have immense gratitude for your service, and our freedom.
Instead of just saying, “thank you for your service,” thousands of private citizens who have not worn the uniform, express their appreciation in their own ways throughout the year. Robert Waples is one of those Americans. Not only is he involved in volunteering with several veteran events and organizations, he is easy to spot in the crowd because he usually has his grandson, Troy Bystrom, with him. Robert includes Troy so his grandson will also have the opportunity to show respect to our veterans. Recently, we were able to catch up with Robert. Continue reading Robert Waples answers the call
